Author Biography

Shane Hawk (Cheyenne-Arapaho, Hidatsa, and Potawatomi descent) is an acclaimed horror writer best known for Anoka: A Collection of Indigenous Horror. By day, he teaches history, and by night he crafts chilling stories rooted in Indigenous traditions and folklore.

Theodore C. Van Alst Jr., an enrolled member of the Mackinac Bands of Chippewa and Ottawa Indians, is an award-winning novelist, short story writer, and professor of Indigenous Nations Studies at Portland State University. His work has earned numerous literary honors for its powerful exploration of Indigenous identity and storytelling.
